In 1976, Roland Simmons left his job as an industrial designer in the San Francisco Bay area. He began to experiment with the infusion of sculpted parchment and illuminated light. With the drive to succeed and a willingness to fail, Roland set out to follow his dream-- and has since become a world-renowned artist of contemporary lamp design. Over these many years, he has produced numerous creations in various shapes, forms and styles. His designs in contemporary lighting have won numerous awards and gained recognition worldwide.
